Tournament Guidelines: (updated January 16th, 2006) Click here to contact a tournament coordinator for questions or suggestions GENERAL INFO: The MWGamers.com tournaments were brought about due to high player demand. They are a single-elimination tournament held bi-weekly on the -MW- Tournament server. The tournament server is located at 8.9.4.115. The password is always 'midwest'. This server may be used by any player for practice or scrims/pug's during off-tournament hours. I - TEAMS: 1) This is a Three-Player per team Tournament (3 vs 3) 2) One player shall be nominated as the team captain. a) All scheduling will be done through this captain. 3) All teams must give themselves a Team Name and Tag to be worn throughout the tournament. 4) Players may not be a member of multiple teams during any given tournament a) If caught, both teams will be disqualified b) After the tournament is complete, players may change teams 5) Teams may substitute a player if problems arise on the scheduled match date/time or other scheduling conflicts. a) If the team doesn't have their 3rd player on the date/time of a match, one may be substituted (rule I-4 still applies here) 1) Only one player can be a sub. Two of the original Team players must be present. (there have been exceptions, but don't make it a habit of only one original team member showing up). II - GAMEPLAY: 1) Each Match will consist of 20 rounds. Teams switch sides after 10 rounds. The team to win 11 rounds or more is the winner. a) 10 rounds per side (CT or T). All 20 rounds are to be played out regardless if a team has already won the match. Keeping round scores will be the determining factor in which team choses sides or gets 'bye's. 2) -MW- Public server variables will be used on the tournament server. Some CAL variables will be used as well. a) Friendly-Fire will be off. b) AWP and Auto-Sniper(s) will be disabled. c) Force Chase will be on. d) Round time set to 1 minute. 45 Seconds. e) C4 timer set to 40 seconds. 3) One or more match Admins will be present during gameplay. No players will be allowed to spectate. 4) Spray images that are made to 'trick' the other team are prohibited (ie Terrorist image spray). Spray are allowed. 5) Ventrillo, Teamspeak, and other Voice mods are allowed. (yes, they will give you an advantage, dead people CAN talk). a) The above rule is allowed due to the fact that it would be too hard to enforce prohibited Voice Chatting/Ghosting. 6) Hacking AND Scripting (recoil-scripts) are strictly prohibited. Doing so will disqualify the Team and result in a permanent ban on both Public and Tournament -MW- servers for any player(s) in question. 7) Map rotation will be announced as soon as 1-week prior to the match. It will be on the 'Calender' page. 8) Boosting with any number of players is considered legal. 9) Manipulating objects such as chairs and office furniture is considered legal. 10) OVERTIME: If the standard 20-round match results in a tie, the teams will play 6-round matches (3 on CT, 3 on T) until the tie is broken. a) Screenshots are required after every overtime 3-round set. b) The same rules and procedures apply to OT as they would a normal 20-round match. 11) The following maps will be utilized for the tournaments: De_Dust, De_Dust2, De_Aztec, De_Inferno, De_nuke, De_Prodigy, De_Cbble, De_Port, De_Chateau, De_Tides, De_Train. III - PROCEDURES: 1) Tournament sign-ups are located HERE on the -MW- forums. a) Please try to sign up at least 1-week prior to the up-and-coming Tournament 2) Arrive at the Tournament server 10 minutes before the match (not earlier - this may interfere with other matches). 3) Your team has up to 10 minutes after scheduled match start time to gather your 3 members (see rule I-5 for exceptions) and begin match. 4) Before the match begins, all players must gather at a common area (typically CT spawn) and take a screenshot. 5) After the first 10 rounds has completed, all players are to take a screenshot of the first-half results. a) All players are to remain in their spawn until the match Admin gives the 'ok' to switch teams. 6) When the match is complete, all players are to remain at spawn until the Admin gives the ok to depart (admin screenshots). 7) Demo-recording is not required but is recommended to avoid 'hacking' accusations. 8) If there is an odd-number of teams, or the number of teams creates a situation where a 'Bye-In' is created, the team with the best score in the previous set will get the bye. a) If it's the first round of the tournament, the team will be the previous tournaments best score/tournament winner. b) If two teams are tied for the bye, then the team who had the most overall kills in the previous set gets the bye. (ex - Team1 had a total of 37 kills for both sets and Team2 had 42 kills total, team 2 gets the bye). IV - ADDITIONAL STATISTICS: 1) The Tournament results will be tracked over the coarse of the year and scores will be totaled. a) This concept is still up in the air. Check back later for more details. - Good Luck! Midwest Gamers - MW - MWGamers.com |
