Post-Game Recap: Round #3 - 01-27-06 Map - De_Aztec (updated January 16th, 2006) A BIG thanks to Helvetica for hosting the tourney this round. Here's the recap in her words: -Kley- ---------------- First off I would like to thank Kley for this opportunity for managing the third MiG Tourney. Thank you, Kley. With the tourney over, as always, that means it's time to discuss the aftermath. Personally, I'm all for Counter-Strike. God bless the people who plug countless hours into Valve’s epic tactical killing machine, I say. Match One Things started off around 7:00 with match one with the Friendly Gaming Team, FGT, composed of Ryan, KillaKL, and Kind Kyle, the former champs versus the Pregame All-Stars, pAs, with Gimper, Johnny Doe, and Moose. FGT calmly won the majority of the rounds 9-1 on T and then 8-2 CT. I screwed up the second screenshot but FGT did well. My only excuse that I can come with was that I was drunk. I give FGT’s teamwork an A+++. That’s at least an A+ even at Harvard. Match Two I should mention I lost track of time at this point until 9:15, which is when I was presented with a homemade banana cream pie. More on that later. Match two was WaGL[A],We are going to lose [again] against +[F.R]+, Force Recon. WaGL[A]PILLZKILLZ had an hax-calling worthy score of 14-2. WaGL[A] won 9 on CT, however the final set broke even with +[F.R]+ Newbie going 19-5. Good job. Match Three I have no idea what StL stands for, but they entered two teams. This immediately made me sweat as the StL crew is known for owning faces on the pub. I was on the TheGarshers (technically it should be “teh” but Word is correcting the spelling anyway). Panic ensued when the round was about to start and I realized we didn’t have a team name. |GYD| Franco came up with the name. While we were dead – which was a lot of the time – loudog and I discussed the meaning of “garsher.” We currently think it’s a dirty word in French but we’re not sure. Here’s a picture of Franco during the match:  Here’s me:  Match Four We were waiting around for Pants so we went onto Set 2, match 4, where FGT took the win but I didn’t even mange to get one clean screenshot. I’m new to the job. What I can say is the word on the street at the win is an astounding "wow." Break time! Banana Cream Pie The matches came to stop around 9:15 while we waiting for Pants. This is where the banana cream pie comes in. The guy friend made this with ‘Nilla Waters, banana cream pie, and banana slices. Really delicious. You put a layer of Nilla Waters on the bottom of a glass pan, and then follow with a layer of bananas, then pudding. Another layer of bananas and pudding, top with whipped cream and you're good to go. I tucked in while trying to figure out my frantic scribbles that told the scores and teams. Smokey ended up snagging Liquid Spidey from the server and match 5 was good to go. Match Five Match 5 ended up with SSP versus StL (the second team) with StL winning. Smokey dropped the fbomb a lot. Match Six I don’t remember what happened during Match 6. The Garshers won and I got shot in the head a lot. That’s okay though. It’s okay ingame and in life. If I ever lose my head I’m going to donate it. It's written on the back of my drivers license: HEAD DONOR! Match Seven The Garshers win and I had some lucky ass shots. Loudog, who was sitting two feet to the right of me, can testify to that. In other news, team FGT is sexy. Thanks to everyone who played! - Helvetica |
