Post-Game Recap: Round #1 - 12-23-05 Map - De_Dust2 (updated January 16th, 2006) Five teams made it to the first ever MIG tournaments. For a single elimination tournament, having an odd number of teams creates a first set 'bye in' (a team that is allowed to skip one set), having a number of teams that's wasn't divisible by four created a second set 'bye-in' situtation. The first 'Bye-In' ended up being the FGT team (randomly chosen). The second set bye-in will always go to the team with the most overall wins in the first set. PHK had beat Wham for the second-set bye-in with 16 wins in the first set (vs. Whams 15 wins). Wham got off to a running start with 10 straight wins as Terrorists in the first match. Wham's fill-in player 'Lackey' held the team up with a 14-1 record in the first set. The A-Team got it together and evened out the second set with a finishing score of 15-5: Wham wins with 'Lackey' again as the 2nd round MVP. The second match was between PHK and GS. Both sets left the scores 8-2 in PHK's favor. Helvetica carried PHK to victory as the MVP in both sets. She had a whopping 16-4 score in the 2nd set. Hacker! The 3rd match was close, very close. It all came down to the last two rounds. Reliable Ryan pulled MVP and bought FGT to victory in the 1st set. Wham came back and won the 2nd set 6-4 (Lackey as MVP) but it wasn't enough to take the overall. The final match ended up being between FGT and PHK (who had the bye-in for the final match). Kley brought PHK to victory in the first set leading FGT 7-3. NakedMonkee [PHK] and Kind Kyle [FGT] lead the teams in the 2nd set with an even 2nd set score of 5-5. PHK takes the overall and the championship. See you all in two weeks. Keep practicing!! The tourney server is available at all times if you'd like to grab another team and get some practice. GGs! -Kley- |
